Ms. Maureen Wallace
Ms. Sue Cornelius, Athletics Director

Ms. Cornelius is responsible for all of East’s many athletic teams. She has been a physical education teacher in West Chester Area School District for more than 20 years, and she has returned to where participated as an athlete—West Chester East, Home of the Vikings!

Dr. Dunlap became principal of East High School on February 4, 2002.   Prior to this, for the previous six years, he served as the principal of Garnet Valley Middle School.  He was an assistant principal at East High School and at Fugett Middle School in the mid 1990's.  Dr. Dunlap started his teaching career as a Special Education teacher at East High School in 1986.  During his tenure as a teacher, he coached varsity football, wrestling, and softball.

After graduating from West Chester State College in 1982, with a B.S. in Education, he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.  He attained his M.A. in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies and his Doctorate in Education while attending Immaculata College.  

In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors. 

Ms. Wallace holds a B.S. from Temple University in Health and Physical Education, and her Masters degree in educational leadership from Cheyney University.

 

Maureen was Assistant Principal at Coatesville High School in 2001 before coming to East in 2006. She resides in West Chester with her husband and two children.

Prior to his appointment as assistant principal, Mr. Rogers served for nine years as a guidance counselor at J.R. Fugett Middle School.  He received his B.A. from Stonehill College, his Masters in Guidance from Bridgewater State University, and his Principal's Certificate from Penn State University.

He has spent his career in education as a teacher, counselor, administrator and coach in the United States, Europe, and Asia! 

Dr. Bailey is a native of Coatesville. He earned his B.S. in Education from Shippensburg University, where he also played basketball.  He earned his Masters degree in Counseling from West Chester University, and his Principal's Certificate from Penn State University.

Dr. Bailey completed his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wilmington College. 

 

Ms. Dowdell has worked in rural education in Lyons, New York; in urban education for the Philadelphia School District as a teacher; she has worked in the mental health sector with the Devereux Foundation as a Principal/Supervisor of Special Education; and in corrections education with Cornell Abraxas as a Principal/Director of Special Education.

Ms. Dowdell earned the following degrees and certifications from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania: a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, a Master's Degree in Educational Administration, Principal's Certification, and Special Education Supervisor's Certification.  She is currently pursuing her doctorate at Immaculata University.
