Good Book Care

Set aside a special place to keep books safe at home.
Younger siblings and pets have not learned that they should not color, cut, chew, or tear the pages of library books like the students have learned.
Library books should always travel in the students backpack or in a plastic bag. Be sure not to place water bottles or snacks in the same pocket as the library books.
Be careful when turning the pages of a book. Readers should turn the page from the top or bottom corner, not the top or bottom near the spine. Turning the page from near the spine of the book will tear the page. Our books will have a longer life if we take good care of them.
Wet and severely damaged books will need to be replaced.
