Magazine Subscriptions
The following is the list of magazines that we subscribe to at Penn Wood for the children. Current issues of magazines are kept in the reading area for one month and then available for check-out.
Magazines are fun! They offer a variety of current reading material and circulate for a two-week period. Just remember they are made from paper and the students must be careful with their care.

CLICK is the science and exploration magazine for children ages 3 to 7. It opens up a universe of wonder by introducing the world that's all around them. Click is about the sciences, nature, and the environment.

COBBLESTONE is an American history magazine for children 9 to 14. COBBLESTONE takes kids on a journey through history that is designed to excite their imaginations and bring the past to life! Kids will enjoy reading about important American events and places. Each issue of COBBLESTONE includes activities and book reviews, recommends Web sites and historic sites to visit, and features brain ticklers and a "Did You Know" section. Created with help from noted historians, museum curators, and famous children’s authors.

ODYSSEY is a science magazine for kids ages 10 to 15. ODYSSEY's theme-based issues deliver the latest science news and allow kids to explore the hottest trends in science in detail—everything from robots to rocketry and asteroids to dinosaurs. There’s nothing more exciting to kids than the fascinating journeys that ODYSSEY takes them on each month.
PLAYS presents one-act plays and programs for young people in lower grades through high school, to perform in schools, drama groups, libraries and clubs. Plays includes comedies, holiday plays, dramatized classics, special occasion plays, skits, creative drama and puppet plays. One-act plays for lower, middle & upper grades. Seven to ten plays per issue.
RANGER RICK is for children ages 7 and up. Each issue is packed full with amazing facts, stunning photos and outdoor adventures that help kids sharpen reading skills and develop a deeper appreciation for nature and the natural sciences. SPORTS ILLUSTRATED FOR KIDS is a magazine for children ages 8 and up devoted to sports. It features articles on sports figures of note, tips from the pros, news items of recent note, games, puzzles, cartoons, fiction, and advice from athletes
ZOOBOOKS is a simply written and beautifully illustrated magazine that presents articles on animals and nature. Each issue "captures" one of 60 different animals through magnificent photography, illustrations, diagrams, descriptions. Kids get "up close and personal" with the world's most amazing creatures.
