Mission Statement
The West Chester Area School District is committed to making its libraries an integral part of the educational programs of district schools. In keeping with this philosophy, the Penn Wood Elementary School Library will implement, enrich, and support the educational programs of our school. With our fully-integrated, flexibly-scheduled library program, we will work cooperatively with other educators to promote information literacy and to design learning strategies that meet the needs of individual students. We will provide intellectual and physical access to materials in a variety of formats so that students and staff will be empowered to become effective and discriminating users of information. We will also foster in our diverse population a love of reading and a desire to use all types of libraries for lifelong learning.
