At the elementary level, the gifted program supports students identified as gifted with the opportunity to participate in enrichment programs. Academic support beyond what is offered in the regular education program is determined by the regular education teacher and the gifted resource teacher. Each building has a gifted resource teacher that works with the regular classroom teacher to identify needs of gifted students based on school performance and ability. The enrichment classes meet one afternoon a week and include topics of student interest. The academic program is offered in reading and math when needed.
