9th Grade
Paideia Seminar meets as an elective. There are two topic discussions for each semester.

Paideia Seminar involves active learning through discussion. The participants are involved in an intellectual dialogue with open-ended questions. The purpose of the seminar is to increase understanding of textual ideas and values, as well as understanding of self and others. The text may be a poem, painting, chart or graph, short story, essay, word problem, or experiment description.


10th Grade
Students in 10th grade may choose Paideia Seminar and/or College Planning.

Paideia Seminar meets the first half of the year. The description is listed above.

College Planning will involve career exploration and career guidance. Students will develop a plan for college preparation to meet their individual career goals.


11th/12th Grade
Program consists of these options: Shadowing, Mentoring or Independent Project.

Shadowing - Student will research field of interest, generate a list of questions, and participate in an informational interview of a professional within their field of interest. A written report will be generated by the student that details the answers to the questions and an overall reaction to this type of career.

Mentoring - This is an extension of shadowing that provides opportunities for students to work with professionals for an extended period of time based on their academic schedules.

Independent Project - Students have an opportunity to participate in academic competitions or develop an independent project in their area of interest.
